Therapy for the perinatal period → from trying to conceive through postpartum

Peters Therapy Group has a team of therapists (who are also moms!) trained in perinatal mental health to support you as you navigate this unique chapter of life.

Hi, I’m Amanda (MSW, RSW)

But you can call me Mandy!

Taking the first step to getting support is often the hardest one to take. I’m really glad you’re here and look forward to hearing your story.

My hope is that you can feel supported and cared for, as we work collaboratively to reach your unique goals in therapy. We provide support for moms in the perinatal period (and beyond!), parents with young children, children and teens experiencing mental health challenges, and individuals and couples seeking support. Everyone is unique, and our approach is always tailored to meet your individual needs.

Therapy for Moms. Appointments available in-person in St. Catharines, and virtually across Ontario

Whether you are in the early stages of trying to conceive, deep in the trenches of infertility, dealing with a challenging pregnancy, or navigating the early postpartum days, we have a team of therapists to help ensure you aren’t walking this road alone.

Motherhood is both profoundly meaningful and deeply overwhelming. Many women find themselves navigating intense emotional changes, uncertainty, grief, or a loss of connection to themselves during this season of life. At Peters Therapy Group, we specialize in supporting women through the perinatal period, offering compassionate, evidence-based therapy to help you feel supported, grounded, and understood.

Women often seek therapy during pregnancy or postpartum due to anxiety or depression, identity shifts, parenting guilt, perfectionism, difficult life transitions, or the emotional impact of pregnancy loss, infertility, or birth trauma. Whether you are adjusting to new motherhood, carrying unprocessed grief, feeling disconnected from your body or emotions, or struggling with expectations, therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space to process your experience at your own pace.

Our therapists Amanda Peters, Holly Keus, Amanda McIntyre, and Delaney Schultz bring years of experience supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and reproductive transitions. Their warm, strengths-based approach is grounded in evidence-based care and tailored to your unique story. They are deeply committed to helping you reduce distress, build self-compassion, and move toward healing, resilience, and a more settled sense of self during this vulnerable and important time.

We offer flexible appointment times, including evenings and weekends, both in-person at our welcoming office and virtually across Ontario.

As always, if you can’t find a time that works well for you, feel free to reach out and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Our therapists are specialists in their unique areas of expertise.

We weren’t meant to do this alone!

Every aspect of family life has complexities and challenges. Whether you are trying to start or grow your family, you are expecting a baby, you are new parents, or in the thick of parenting, we’re here to journey alongside you through these seasons.

As a mom to three children, I know firsthand how even the most joyous of times can bring about conflicting and confusing emotions to work through. It was through my own transition to motherhood that I grew passionate about supporting moms in the perinatal period and beyond. More than ever before, the expectations put on moms can feel isolating and even debilitating, maybe you’re feeling burnt out and struggling to show up for your family in the ways you want. You aren’t alone in feeling this way, and reaching out for support is a sign of your strength. Investing in your mental health is important, together we can get you feeling like your full self again!

Struggling to manage the big emotions of the little people that you love so much? Tired of dealing with the same challenging behaviours over and over? Our group of therapists have extensive experience, both in our personal and professional lives, optimizing toddler discipline strategies and helping you co-regulate those big emotions, supporting children and teenagers through life’s struggles, and journeying alongside adults and couples.

Our clinic was made with you in mind.

When we started our therapy clinic back in 2022, we couldn’t imagine the grassroots and organic growth that we’d experience. But we couldn’t be more proud and thankful that we get to support individuals and their families.

Since then, Peters Therapy Group has grown into a leading and highly reputable mental health clinic in St. Catharines. We’re proud to be recognized as an established practice that puts client care and connection first.

In 2023, we invested significantly into a completely renovated clinic in St. Catharines that is bright, comfortable, and a safe place for you to take time and invest in yourself and your family. We know you’ll love our floor to ceiling windows!

While we are big believers in the human connection that is experienced in-person at our clinic, we aspire to bring that connection virtually for moms who reach out for support. I encourage you to read our therapist’s bios and check out their availability online. And as always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Our contact page is located here.
